Death certificate

(Querist) 27 March 2012 This query is : Resolved
Person stayed in a village of Satara district, Maharashtra. Died of illness at a Hospital in Mumbai. Cremated at the same village as he stayed. Where will he get the death certificate?. Will his village panchayat provide his family a Death Certificate or the Hospital local authority will provide. What are the formalities required for his registration at the Village. Is it necessary to register his death at the village panchayat.

From the hospital the same would be sent to local registrar of brith and death. From the same you can obtain it.

That means the same has to be obtained from Mumbai.

WARD OFFICE OF Mumbai [BMC] WILL ISSUE WHERE HE DIED.
Guest (Expert) 27 March 2012
Hospital, as of its duty would already have sent the information of death to the Brihan Mumbai Municipal Corporation. So the BMC would issue the death certificate.
Raj Kumar Makkad (Expert) 27 March 2012
The authorities wherein death has taken place generally issue such certificates but the place wherein the person was cremated, is also another place from where such certificate can be got.
