Regarding a private road

There is a private road passing through backside of my land.Road passes through one cent of my land.The other parts of the road belongs to another person staying there.This one cent was given to him by my great-grandfather (it is clearly mentioned in his property document) to be used as a road .
Now he says that i should not enter that road.If i file a legal suit ,Do i have any chance of winning? And will i be entitled to use the other parts of the road which belongs to him.(ratio of land in the road is 1:3 (i.e) one part in mine(for which he has a written permission to use it) and the other three cents belong to him ).

Do not think about chances.
You have merit in the case, so file a suit for declaration and prohibitory injunction.

If it is a common passage then you are entitled to use it.
