Verification is not equivalent with the affidavit.

Read CPC

Any Application MUST BE SUPPORTED BY AFFIDAVIT.
U r Jr. Advocate.
Show it to Sr., get advised, and then file, otherwise u may harm your client's interest.
After all, we all are here, to serve our Client.
Forget own ego, in interest of client. They are our God.
God created u to serve them.

Why should client suffer due to our fault?? So reduce that risk, and be friendly with Sr. Advocate, and show him , what you are filing, or arguing, , at least for first five years.
Nobody is perfect. Nothing wrong asking first, before filing case.

I am still pondering on your query as I am not aware of a provision in C.P.C or elsewhere which requires filing of any
reply to grounds taken in memo of appeal
as we file written statement in reply to plaint. In Appeals responent may only need to file objections against interim applications of appellant but not any reply to memo of appeal.
