pay fixation rule central civil service

When should an re-employed pensioner in civil service opt for fixation of pay ?

should be with in the one year joining the service or should be after completion of probation period

I have 2 year probation period

Your query is not clear, whether you have been appointed initially on he civil service post after Civil Services Examination, or have been promoted from some lower cadre, or you want the benefit of some previous service in some other cadre after selection to the civil services post? Criteria can be different for pay fixation in different cases.

I have worked as MNS(Short Service Commissioned Officer) for 5 years in the INDIAN ARMY(1996-2001).
In 2005 I have selected staff nurse position with Central Govt. Under Taking : Port Trust, I need to know should I am eligible for Fixation of Pay and whend should I apply for fixation of pay, at the time of joining the civil post or after probation period.
