A person from my village taken 6-7 loans from same bank on projects subsidies by Govt. But neither the project existed nor the loan re-paid.
As a social worker, I want to highlight the matter, because due to him the needy people facing problems.
My query is: How I get his account statement?
I drafted that:
HOW MANY PROJECT LOAN DISBURSED BY THE BANK IN REVENUE VILLAGE 'A'? Provide Details name of project and current balance of loan?

Is bank bound to provide above detail through RTI?

From your query some vital questions of doubt arise about your intentions. You may please like to clarify the following queries;

1) In what way the other needy people are facing problem due to taking of loan by a single individual from the bank?

2) How by getting account statement of the single individual debtor, you propose to help remove problems of other needy people who in your words are facing problem?

3) Also how any one can be sure, being a manager (as per your profile), you are seeking help of the experts as a social worker only to help other needy people, and not in a bid to harm the said individual debtor as a matter of some enmity or revenge?

Because,
1. Now all banks are stating that the concerned village is most debater village. So other facing problems.
2. Subsidy is a national property, if we are not objecting, a same person get loan again again with subsidy to make Rural Industry. However, neither, he pay back loan and nor any industry existed.
IS THIS NOT A NATIONAL ISSUE MR. SINGH?

No, bank is not bound to give details.

Dear Mr. Satish,

Your plea is not tenable. Nothing of the sort is there which can be treated as a national issue, as you have claimed.

Needless to mention, if a bank gives 6-7 loans to a single person, corrupt practice on the part of the bank cannot be overruled. The question arises, did not the bank see the crdeibility of the applicant and his sureties.

Bank cannot normally decline loan to other creditable applicants merely with the plea that a single borrower has not repaid his loan. If a bank has paid a loan to some person, it is up to the bank to adopt necessary legal measures to recover its dues.
