Registration process for release deed

Release deed, must be executed in how much rupee stamp paper and whether registration is essential or obligatory ? Else, instead of registration, can it be notarised ?

registration is mandatory . release deed if favour of close relative attracts nominal stamp duty . notarised release deed wont be of any use

In every State, the value of Stamp duty to be affixed is different. In Haryana, Release Deed can be got executed and registered on a fixed stamp duty of Rs. 500/- irrespective of the value of the property.

Stamp duty differs from state to state.
In WB it depends upon the value of the property.
