Hi experts,how many months can a husband has to spend in jail if he doesn't pay the maintenance?

Is it a non bailable offense?

after issuing warrant can he granted bail from the court?

i am facing dv the proceedings are going in the court and on the first day of appreance court ordered me intrim maintanance at the tune of 4000 per month and didn't pay the same yet so i want to know that when will be the court issue warrent against me and how many months i have to spend in jail.or can i granted bail after issuing warrent?

You can pay in installments and if you refuse to pay then the court shall have no other option but to send you jail for one month against the arrears of one month maintenance. Even after going to jail, the amount of the arrears shall stand against you.

You can file a revision against the order of the lower court if you feel that the amount of maintenance is not proportionate to your income.
