Compensation

Sir
This is with regard to my yesterdays train journey.
The train had to reach bangaluru(SBC)
at 6:40 AM,instead it reach there around 12:30 PM.
As a result my flight from bangaluru was missed
(ticket enclosed)and i had to pay an extra 8000/-Rs
for next flight alongwith my work loss and inconvenience.
1.what remedies are available to me?
2.How can i get compensation?

Railway do not provide any compensation: so no remedy.

You have to prove that you had agreed to buy rail ticket on promise of railways that you will not miss flight.

Railway unfortunately do not undertakes to get completed its journey within the stipulated time even then such delay do come within deficiency in service hence you should try to raise the complaint before consumer forum or Permanent Lok adalat for public utility services of your area.

Yes you can take opportunity in Consumer Court
Document -
1) Reservation Ticket time of Train from start of your journey.
2) Time Table of Railway Train of your Train.
3) You can lodge your complaint in Complaint Dairy in Designation station of Master office or can even lodge complaint to Guard of Train in complaint diary.This will utilized while filing complaint in Consumer Court.

You are feet in the case of Consumer protection Act and file the complaint in consumer court in jurisdication of Banglore Court.

Railway Do not Take undertake of Completed journey within time but you have reasonable ground 6 hour delay but there must not Be act of God mean Rain which has delay train, or any other which is reach out of control of human being.

I also really think that you have strong grounds to put up your case in district consumer form. Its good case,I am sure if you get fairly compensated, the case will be high lighted in News channels, which will force Railway to improve its service. Go ahead with all the documents to prove your point.
