Water leakage problem

Respected Sir / Madam,
My problem is about the leakage problem because i am staying in top floor and my society people are not helping me to solve the problem. So kindly suggest what major step can be taken.

I have brought the matter to soceity members but i have not written a complaint to them. And i am facing the problem since 4/5 years.

1) lodge written complain to secretary .
2) mention that leakage problem is for last 4 years .
3) also mention that number of verbal complaints were made but no action taken by society .
4) if society does not act move consumer forum against society for deficiency in service

The Secretary & Chairman
Sub: Water leakage problem faced every year
Ref: Oral Complaints given to your goodself regarding the subject matter
We have being staying in this Building “********** Building” in B Wing, Flat No. 00, since more than 20 years, but from past 3-4 years we are facing a lot of ceiling leakage & Wall leakage problems in our apartment. We have complained about this issue in the society many times but sadly no action has been taken yet. This letter is intended to form a written letter following up repeated verbal complaints we have made in person at the society office.
Also to put it in record we would like to state that as per article 160(a) of the Bye Laws of the Co-operative Housing Society it is the responsibility of the society to carry on the repairs and maintenance of the damaged ceiling and plaster thereon of the flats in the top floor. We would request you to kindly adhere to the laws and help us in the best possible way wherein we shall appreciate your efforts.
Due to heavy leakage the ceiling of our flat is completely damaged and therefore we hereby request the society to take an early action and make the repairs done at the earliest. It shall be highly unfortunate and a sorry state for the society in case of any accidents taking place due to the delay in your action.
We look forward to hearing from you and appreciate a resolution of the aforesaid problem at your earliest.

I have give the letter to the society and now it is one week,but from their end no reply. So plz suggest what step to betaken now.
And what is consumer forum please explain me.

1. Write a complaint to police as well.
2. Inform RCS in writing.
3. Can seek mandate from civil court/ RCS.
4. Engage a local lawyer.

wait for 15 days for reply . if no reply received send a reminder . then file complaint in consumer forum against society .
consumer forum is established under provisions of consumer protection act for redressal of grievances . if society not acting on your complaint move forum for necessary reliefs
