Is it possible to relinquish ones legal rights over ancestral assets by signing a relinquishment deed (or through any other medium)?
If so, is it further possible to do without being physically present at the said jurisdiction where the ancestral assets (immovable properties) are present?
I am based out of Mumbai and would like to know if I can have a deed prepared and executed in Mumbai, which can be used to relinquish rights over properties located in Tamil Nadu.
I am looking to relinquish all my rights that I might have over my families ancestral assets. Given the current situation I am in, I am unable to furnish the exact nature and value of assets. Is there a possibility to have blanket relinquishment deed pertaining to ancestral properties/assets only?
If the answer to any of the above is yes, I would also be requiring a lawyer based out of Mumbai (preferably in South Mumbai). Any contacts or leads will be much appreciated.
Thanks all in advance.

Yes it is possible to release your rights under Register Release Deed/Gift Deed. But you should have to present before jurisdictional sub-registrar office otherwise you can execute a Power of Attorney in favour of Donee or your any family member to execute such Release Deed in Jurisdictional Sub-Registrar Office.

In addition to that you should have to furnish all the details of the assets and blanket release deed is not not possible. It may creates lot of doubts on facts.
