If one of the party doesn't appears for first motion or even for second motion after six months to make his/her statement in court about his/her consent for divorce the court will dismiss the joint petition for divorce by mutual consent under section 13B HMA or section 28 SMA.
No there is no such thing as ex-parte divorce or divorce in absentia of other party in case of divorce by mutual consent, either both parties appear for two motions and if either of them refuse or avoid to do so the Petition is to be dismissed
