Respected Learned Experts, I had filed an OA before the CAT, Chennai on treatment of suspension period and I won the case. Now my department has filed Writ Petition before the Bench challenging the CAT order. The Advocate of the department has sent me a letter duly informing me that a Writ Petition has been filed. However, no copies of the petition and their enclosures were endorsed to me either by the Advocate or by the Registry. I would like to file my reply version and intended to appear as party in person. Can I have been clarified what is meant by typed set of papers and coding sheet which are required to be filed along with the reply. Many thanks to all the experts in anticipation.

You can ask the court to send you copies of the petition with enclosures by a humble request as you have not received the same through your lawyer. Without verifying their WP it cannot be advised. You shall submit the papers supporting your reply. You can now present in court and having to plead, you can assert your own case. What is the opinion of your lawyer?

Respected Learned KAVK Satyanarayana, I am not having any advocate. I am appearing as Party In person. I had filed a Misc. Petition in the WP counter of the High Court in the month of Feb.2023 itself in the prescribed form for appearance as Party in Person. But no response from the court. I wish to have clarification on the meaning of typed set of papers and coding sheet. Please clarify on the said term and oblige. Thanks in anticipation.

To my best, You can plead your own case. But it is better to consult a local advocate for guidance only as I am not a lawyer to guide you properly as an advocate. However, indicate how you disagree with each para of the appeal and other points that you want to put in the issue. You must provide legal authority in support of each point and the nature of the order you sought.

You have filed a miscellaneous petition before the registry seeking to permit you to appear in the case as party in person.
For all such further details you have to appear before court in person on the date the case is listed for hearing.
You make yourself physically present before the court on the slated date and inform the court when your matter is called that you are appearing as party in person and you would like to have the copies of the typed set of papers including the copy of the petition. The court will direct the petitioner counsel to furnish a copy and post the matter to some other day, after which you can prepare the written version or can argue even without filing the written version directly

Typed set is the set of documents.
What are the documents to be filed in the typed set ?
It should contain all the relevant papers neatly typed i.e., copy of plaint, written statement, copy of petition, affidavit in I.A., I.A. And the order/Judgment, Decree, copy of grounds and any other relevant papers as the counsel feels necessary.
Obtain the coding sheet from the high court or relevant legal authorities. This can often be done online or by contacting the court directly.
Begin by filling out the basic information on the coding sheet, such as the case number, court name, and the names of the parties involved.
Attorneys and legal professionals: They often need coding sheets to accurately record and track the progress of court cases, which can be used for various purposes such as legal research, case management, and preparing legal documents.
Court clerks and staff: They require coding sheets to maintain the official records of court cases and to ensure proper documentation and tracking of court proceedings.:
