My Fiance is from Goa and I am from Chennai. We are planning for marriage registration in Bangalore under Special Marriage Act since both of us are here right now. My fiance’s paternal grandfather had left a property for his children and this is under litigation. The problem is with respect to the percentage division of the property. My fiance’s dad is currently fighting for this. a. Is it true that if we get married outside the state of Goa – my Fiance and me automatically lose the right to this property or fighting for this property after his dad - Does Goa have separate Portuguese/Goa property act? Or can we get married in Bangalore and it does not make a difference with respect to the succession/property law? b. If we have to get married in Goa, does the Special marriage act apply here or is it a different act for inter-religion marriages?
