Dear Sir,
I am a member of a Gym,at Mumbai.
There are 500 members in the gym.
On the 28th,August,2011, the gym pasted a notice, that from the 31st,August, the gym, would be closed forever, and members, have the options to transfer to other locations.Other branches/locations are not convenient to members. The management, is not responding to refund of membership requests, and personal training fees collected by them. Some members, have even joined only one or two month ,before.
Please advise, what recourse,do we have, and which is the appropriate forum, to lodge a complaint, in the event the gym, denies refunds.
thanks !

You can go to the consumer forum. But, First check that at the of registration what are speaking the terms and conditions, in which you have signed.

when you made an application to join the gym you must have filled in form laying down terms and conditions , policy relating to refunds etc.
in your case it appears that you have paid full year feesand have been member of gym for only a month . in such a case you are enttiled to refund . issue a legal notice to gym for deficiency in service .
file a complaint with consumer forum .
if members are united you can make life of management miserable .
lodge a police complaint against management for cheating
