Help regarding caste certificate

hello to everybody,
help me please,
my query goes like this. I am selected for the pharmacist job in railway against SC quota and I am called for the verification of the documents on 25/09/2013. but the problem is that in all my educational documents my father's name is "Vijay kumar" and in my caste certificate it is mentioned as "Vijay singh" as my caste certificate was issued on the basis of my father's certificate. my father's name in all his documents is "Vijay singh".
now I am afraid that this might cause me some problem.
though I have obtained an affidavit mentioning that "Vijay singh" and "Vijay kumar" are 1 and the same person.
help me what should i do next. so that i can grab this opportunity.
should i go for obtaining a new caste certificate, if yes, then is it possible that i can get a certificate mentioning my father's name as "Vijay kumar"

have you contacted tehsil office for correction of certificate.
Be sure you are not getting job on the basis of this certificate.

they said that there is no way that any correction can be made, as the certificate is issued almost 5 years back. they are suggesting me to apply for a new certificate and surrendering the old certificate.
