How to rectify the Date of Birth filed wrongly by mistake

How to change the Date of Birth when it is wrongly filed in the High School Certificate in 1986. Actually My date of birth had been wrongly filed when the examination forms was submitted to attend the exam in 1986, but after a big time gap it was realized that there is almost 2 years gap in between the Date of Birth filed in the examination forms and later on it has become the bench mark and in the T.C. (Transfer Certificate) issued by the Village Primary School.
My actual Date of Birth is 01/03/1971 (in Primary School Transfer Certificate) and it is in High School Certificate 05/01/1969.
Dear all Experts now, I want to know that if there is any way to rectify this mistake.
It would be great help for me.

File a civil suit against the school and board after making representation followed by legal notice.

Why should a civil suit be filed Mr.Makkad, the querist has erred on his part by writing the wrong date of birth in the exam form and further did not check the details on the school TC. Therefore it is suggested to follow this imple procedure for rectification.
1. Go to the State Government Press in the Capital City of your state.
2. Ask them for the form for change of date of birth and obtain it.
3. Fill up the form and submit it.
4. Pay the requisite Fees in cash.
5. The Press would publish the details of the change of your date of birth and post you two copies of the Government Gazette or ask you to collect the same. The press would also let you know when they would publish the same.
6. Thereafter wherever you wish to submit your change of date of birth, you can submit true copies of the relevant pages of the Gazette.
