I want to add a foot-note to Satya's query. If an Advocate represents himself as "Senior Advocate" without being designated so, then it is merely a professional misconduct or a punishable offence?

It is merely professional misconduct and you can complain before the respective barcouncil with relevant proof.

In the Bar there is a lot of confusion because we use the word Senior while referring to Elder members of the bar, to the senior members of the chambers we are working and to the Designated Senior Advocate.
The word has to be understoood in the context to which it refers.

It is not a criminal offence. You can if you want call it professional misconduct. Senior in ordinary parlance and bar parlance are differnt. You study the context and decide what to do.
