Can a trustee also be the beneficiary of the trust, what is the legal position on this.

From what legal point of view is the query? Under taxation laws a trustee cannot be a beneficiary however under the Indian Trusts Act a trustee can also be a beneficiary there is no bar.

I want to know from the perspective of Indian trusts Act. Can you please specify which provision provides that a trustee can be a beneficiary
A V Vishal (Expert) 05 November 2009
Refer the Indian Trust Act for the answer Mr Anonymous. However such provision is restricted to a private trust only.
