My father is one of the founding members of a co-operative society in west bengal and also owns a flat in it. I am his only child. My mother also died some time back. I also happen to co-own a flat under the jurisdiction of KMDA or Kolkata metropolitan development authority. As per the other members of the society, it seems that I will not be able to inherit the property since I already own a flat under KMDA. Kindly clarify if it is true.

since you are the sole legal heir of the flat on demise of your parents flat would be transferred in your name after fulfillment of legal formalities . as far as other flat is concerned there must be a provision i n byelaws that member can have more than one flat with permission of society .

As you are coming in inheritance of your deceased father, none can restrict you to get the ownership of the mentioned property.
