Dear sir,
My sister has applied for divorce, and his Advocate summoned her husband, but get no response. Now her Advocate has demanded extra 8000rs excluding his fee, for publication in newspaper to exparte her husband in court. Is it necessary to publication in newspaper. My sister and father cannot afford advocates hefty expenditures. Please advise us

Newspaper publication of court notice for respondent is substituted service of court summon before the case can be proceeded ex-parte against the respondent. Cost for the newspaper publication depends on the basis of the cost charged by the newspaper in which it had to be done. The rates are fixed about which you can check with Family Court record office or Ahalmad office. Usual rates varies from R3500 -5000/- but it may be more at some places.

Yes, substitute notice is require and 8000rs is just a normal rate.
