Job agreement

(Querist) 16 July 2012 This query is : Resolved 
my friend working with an organization since more than 7 years and all of sudden in last year his management called him and keep an condition to signed an agreement bond that he couldn't join any competitor service after resign from existing job at least for 2 years otherwise he has to pay more than 30 times of his monthly salary and also he couldn't start his own business for the same produc.

would like to added here that before join this company he was working for the same type of product manufacturer company and at the time of his joining there was no such agreement bond or conditions and even not mentioned the same in his appointment letter, but this type at the middle stage company keep this type of condition without giving him proper time to think over the subject and due to his family current liability he singed the same which you may call in an unavoidable circumstances.

plz. advise the way to come out from this situation bcz now his company is creating undue circumstances over him due to that his personal and family life is totally disturb and its could be impact on his health. Can he file any criminal case over his company for these type of undue situation and non-ethical agreement bond as per my knowledge now there is no bonded labor policy/law in India.
