Judicial custody n police custody

Dear Experts,

I have the following queries:

Q1- what are the practical differences between Judicial custody n police custody?

Q2- How and When does a person get Judicial custody instead of Police custody?

Q3- What is the maximum duration of Judicial custody?

1. The basic difference between police custody and judicial custody is as follows :
In judicial custody person/accused is sent to jail and in police custody person/accused remains with police authority for investigation purpose.
2. If police investigation has been completed in that case person gets judicial custody or if judge finds that person should not be in police custody, he sends him to judicial custody.
3. Unless and until person gets bail.
