Just go to the Marriage Officer's office and collect the requisite forms (of intended marriage, etc.). Fill them up along with the necessary affidavits and get it signed by a notary.....
You need not bother much. Just engage a lawyer. He'll take care of everything! (For a nominal fee, of course).

Fill in the prescribed application form and submit along with proof of marriage performed, documents for age and residence proof and photos to the Sub-Registrar. The marriage can be registered in any of the offices of the Sub-Registrar where the marriage took place, or wither of the spouses is residing. A fee prescribed for the same needs to be paid.

Mr Yedul has described the procedure for registering the marriages under Hindu Law. For other religion or inter religion marriages you have to go before Marriage Magistrate/ Marriage Officer under Special Marriage Act.
