Hello Experts,
My uncle Mr. Vishwajeet Sarkar works in public sector. His spelling of the name was Biswajit Sarkar during his joining some 30 years back. After joining for last 25 years he started using the current spelling i.e. Vishwajeet Sarkar. Even the firm's promotion letter, pay slips have his current spelling Vishwajeet Sarkar. However he did not made any affidavit for the same. His all identity proofs, PAN Card contains the new spelling Vishwajeet Sarkar. However his PF account is on the old spieling Biswajit Sarkar.
What can be done to rectify this? What can be the process?
Regards,
Kumar

Did anybody raise any objection from PF side?
If not, why you yourself is raising this unnecessary controversy?

@anirudh PF office has not raised any objection till now but when he will apply for PF withdrawal at that time this can come up. So he wanted to take preventive measures before that. He still has 3 years of service left.
@ajay that can be changed but it has to be done back dated or still can be done.

Take step to rectify the situation only if objections received from concerned office.

Whether your father ever taken some loan in the past from the PF?
If so, with what name did he apply?
Did he face any problem?

Dear Mr. Anirudh, No My uncle has never taken any loan from PF, nobody still knows that this is the problem. But from the time he understood that spelling is different, he is in fear that he might lose all of his PF amount or his firm might take action. Thus I want to help him.

If I were in your position, then I will do the following:
For the purpose of testing, I will apply for a loan of small amount. That will give me a clue whether there will be any problem. If there is problem, then I will try to take steps.
If there was no problem, then I will cite the sanction of this small loan to prove that the person is the same even though there is spelling change in the way the name appears in record and presently, to overcome any problem that may arise in future.
