Whether the additional qualification will bring any monetory benefits or change in service conditions?for what purpose you seek the entries. state full facts.

There is absolutely no reason for the clerk to refuse to add your qualification to your service book, particularly when the government and academic institutions like IGNOU are nowadays encouraging distance education of everyone without any restriction which existed earlier in some form or other.

You may bring this matter to the head of the organisation and he may ask the clerk to record it as it is necessary for the institution to know the capabilities of the officers in order to run it in an efficient manner.

Even if they don’t add it, it will not affect in your career prospects in any way as it is not based on the service book any career advancement is decided in any organization. It must be based on written declarations or affidavits as to one’s achievements.

Why you are over depending on the clerk? Ask him to convey the decision of the competent authority in writing.
