(Querist) 20 February 2012 This query is : Resolved
Dear Ld Members,

In a newly joined a company. Employee I met with an accident. Doctor advised bed rest of 10 days.

Leave was not allowed as per company’s policy as such, Employee did not complete six months.

In the Offer Letter there was a clause that

“One month notice either side or one month’s basic salary in lieu of notice by either side”

query:
what does the above clause mean.

If Employee resign the company as such employee needs bed rest advised by doctor. Shall employee give one month notice to the company.

Please advice.

ask for 10 days leave along with the doctors medical certificate.

you may not get a paid leave as per the company rule.

not knowing the clause is not an excuse.

The present situation is not normal and in such events, generally companies provide leave so intimate your situation to HR department of your company with prayer to grant you leave as desired and wait for their reaction. You review the reply of the company and take further action accordingly.
