Is it mandatory for all schools including private unaided schools in Telangana to have a Parent Teacher Association (PTA)? If it is mandatory and the management is not willing to establish, how can we proceed further. The school is also increasing fees every year and it not displaying the fee structure on notice board. What action can be taken. I have already raised a complaint (through email) addressed to Director of the Education Department of Telangana, concerned district collector and DEO but there is no response. Please suggest.

A parent–teacher association/organization (PTA/PTO), parent–teacher–friend association (PTFA), or parent–teacher–student association (PTSA) is a formal organization comprising parents, teachers and staff that is intended to facilitate parental participation in a school.
The objective of the PTA is to:
Give their points of view, ideas and experiences to the teachers concerning academic improvement and other issues to provide building improvements, curriculum-based programs, and social events. Communicate the rules, regulation and developmental activity done in the institution.
PTA does not suggest measures to undertake assessments for the academic achievement of the children as the parents are only invited to the parents-teachers meeting to make them aware of their child's progress and learning achievements.
Your personal grievances against the school authorities can be raised before the concerned education officer for relief and remedy and not through the proposed PTA.

Many thanks sir T. Kalaiselvan, I want to know if PTA is mandatory for private unaided schools according to law in Telangana. I don't want to use PTA for addressing personal grievances; but, how can we proceed if the school does not agree on having the association (PTA) itself.

The parents teachers meeting is an essential aspect in the schools whether private or government or aided schools, but it is not mandatory to have a PTA in the private schools in Telangana state.
