I got married two years back.but due to differences my mother in law filed a civil case on me with allegations saying I didn't do many things and keep them happly. The case has reached the court but I go a next hearing. Now the mother in law has said that I should make an affidavit stating ill not enter her home or husbands home..this affidavit shud be for her security which she wanted nd told me that after I get divorce she will take back the case.I wanna know should I make an affidavit?what should I keep in mind when I do it?and what if the mother in law doesn't take the case back?will the court accept my affidavit.I'd like to know your views sir.

You mention in your Affidavit that whatever A Ideal Hindu house wife is expected of in a Traditional Hindu Family she is doing all that.If she is expected of you doing a job she is prepared to do that even. She can manage homely responsibilities and job responsibilities singlehandedly etc. She respects her in laws etc.

The facts, as posted, are less than convincing as they do not suggest any cause of action

Discuss in detail with your lawyer.
If she want to take back the case only after divorce, usefulness of such affidavit for you is doubtful.

Don't you think that you should change the lawyer..........?

Please do not make stories. Law or its procedures do not recognise any locus standi for the mother-in-law in matrimonial matters; it is purely between the husband and the wife.

It seems that you are yourself not properly informed and need to change your lawyer.
