regarding gift

(Querist) 30 August 2010 This query is : Resolved
hello sir, my mothers grandfather has 3 acres of land. he wrote a will that the land should be enjoyed by his grandson i.e., my mothers brother.

my mothers brother gave 1 acre from that 3 acres, to my mother as a gift during the time of her marriage and that gift got registered.

now due to some disputes he is threatening my mother that he will take back that 1 acre given by him.

will it be possible to get back a land which is given as gift and got registered?

No, gift once executed can not be revoked at the whims of the donor.

Do not worry about the threat. If the gift is already registered then it becomes your property and no one can take it from you.

Nature of the property also wants to consider.
