I purchased a flat in Cooperative Group Housing Society on 6-11-2001 on the basis of GPA, Sale Agreement and Will. At that time the document writer and the property dealer who handled the deed advised us to get the agreement to sell registered at the time of freehold of flat. For many years the society could not get the completion certificate so the flat could not be got freehold. Now, when the society has got completion certificate, we went to get it freehold. But, they say that the Agreement to Sell will have to be registered first. When we went to get the Agreement to Sell registered, we are told that that there is a ban on registering of the sale agreements. Kindly advise me what to do?

registration has to be done within period of 4 months . maximum period with penalty is 8 months .
