Registration of marriage

priest's (pandit)signature on D form(marriage registration form)is one of the requirement for the registration of marriage.
my query is
What if priest (pandit) is not available in person to sign the D form.
in my case priest has given me in writing on his letter head that he has conducted my marriage.
please advise me and refer me any book if available.

If you are completing these formalities. Arrange another pandit to sign the marriage registration form.

The certificate provided by pandit who actually performed rites is sufficient for the purpose even if he is not available for his signature of D form.
