Rent bill from landlord

Dear Sir,
I want to know that one property(Land)is leased by landlord to my father & Uncle Jointly 50,50 so landlord can issue rent bill on one name without any noc from other one he is issuing bill on my uncle name whereas BMC tax receipt is on both the names continously from 1967.
Landlord can do so, if he does so can we fight him legally.
Pls advise ASAP.

rent bill should be in name of both tenants as property is taken on rent jointly by both your father and uncle

With whom Rent Agreement is made? If the agreement is in the name of only one, receipts will be issued in his name.

Ask the landlord to issue rent bill in the name of Both to keep the interests of your father as tenant well protected.

Thanks to all experts,
It is a pagadi system taken in 1967 there was both the name on rent bill till 1999 after that landlord is issuing rent bill to only one name that is my uncle.
We fought with landlord how he can do so he is issuing bill only one name the latest rent bill also in one name.
