right to information against pvt educational institutions

sir
i wanted to ask that can we use the right to information against a private educational institution after having finished 2 years study there regarding the way our fees is being utilised?
? and is there any scope for compensation?

Firstly look into the matter whether ur school get any fund from govt. or not.

If yes, then do let us know how much.

Under Right to Information Act, only public authorities can be requested for providing information.

You inform that it is a private educational institution. If it is a private institution, it does not come under the definition of Public authority, and hence, RTI Act is not applicable.

You can file an application under RTI. Educational Institutions fall under Public Domain.

If the school is administered by any govt organisation etc. or it gets substantial fund from the govt., then only it will come under the purviewof RTI under sect 2 of the act.
