Rules and norms regarding leaving the job from psu

Respected lawyers, Myself sunil and i am working in a public sector bank as an assistant and presently preparing for bank po and central govt. job.I want to know that at the time of resigning should i have to take proper resigning letter or only my written resignation to my branch manager is sufficient if i have not mentioned anything to my next psu to whom i am going to join. Some days ago i went to my RO and there the hr dept staff told that don't mention anything about your new job while resigning and told me to resign for personal reason.Is the the correct procedure to resign and will HO accept my resignaton. So many questions in my mind please help me your best sir.

Yes, the HR has correctly advised. Otherwise, as per the requirement of the conduct rules of the organisation for its employees, you were required either to forward your application for PO through proper channel or to intimate your organisation about your application for taking up PO's exam.

Sir what will happen if i give my resignation to RO but the HO does not consider/accept it.And if my colleague in future inform the present employer abt my past job then can my present employer terminate me?

You need to resign without assigning any reason and wait for the action failing which remind the department and then leave the job on last day of your notice period.

Agree with the experts. Another way may be, You may now request your PSU Bank to accord you post facto approval for appear in PO exams and regret for not taking permission previously for lack of knowledge of the procedure. On getting the permission you may submit your resignation.

As the examination of PO has already been held so no permission can be sought thereon.
