Signature Change followed by name change after marriage

(Querist) 23 December 2009 This query is : Resolved
Hi,
I got married two months back, and changed my surname after that.
I have marriage certificate to support this.
Now i want to apply for re-issue of my passport and want my surname to be changed.
which signatures i need to use to submit my passport documents?
Is it mandatory to change your signature also after name change?
Can I have my name as "original name + husband's surname" and Signature as "Original name+ maiden surname + husband's surname"? Is this legal?

Any of the two or both will do.
No you can not sign something which is different from your name. The signature is the unique identity of every individual to show the world his name in his own style which at least should bear the minimum of the original name with surname but not anything in addition to it.

The reply of barman is perfect.

You can apply to the RPO with affidavit in this regard.About the signature nothing will be changed except surname.
