Generally one year time is prescribed in various case laws otherwise it shall be presumed that there is no effect of any defamation over the complainant.

Thank you.

It is about 1.5 months since we have come to know about Contempt of HC Orders. We have drafted the contempt petition and plan to submit it early next month. Is it OK or should I take off to travel to HC to file it earlier?

Also, please inform how such petitions are processed in the court - actively/passively? The respondents also include police officials (SHO and IO) and others.
