Whether service pf notice on Parties or on Advocate?

(Querist) 04 November 2009 This query is : Resolved
Dear Members,
Please inform whether the petitioner can serve the notice/pleadings/affidavits etc on parties instead of counsel who is representing the parties?

Whether the counsel of the O.P/respondents can seek defence on this ground that the Plaint/W.S/Affidavit have served only on parties and not on him?

Please advise
Regards

All copies of the pleadings are basically served on the opposite party but as the opposite party appoints its counsel so those copies are given to opposite party through their counsel and if any party provides such copies directly to the other party then complaince is complete and counsel for the other party cannot take this matter as his defense but his party should accept the receipt of the copies before court.
