Writ petitions under article 226 are filed before High Courts and not before supreme courts.

Writ in relation to Fundamental Rights can only be issued by SC under Art 32. High Courts have wider powers under Art 226

32 deals with fundamental rights whereas the high court under 226 has power to enforce legal rights apart from fundamental rights.
