You can file a case in consumer forum.

Dear Mr. Nawas,

Be practical. You can definitely make a complaint to any Forum. But the first question that will be asked from you is did you suffer any loss? Was any of your cheques got dishonoured because of non-availability of funds in your account? Did the bank failed to restore your amount to your account when pointed out? Have you any answer? In any case, please remember, you have to spend money to approach a legal forum. Take into account all these and then jolly well take legal action.

instead of taking legal action, it would be better to request bank to give credit on 31st.

There was a mistake which was rectified, if no loss occurred to you, your legal action would result more costly to you as compared to relief you may get which is uncertain. Bank would regret for the mistake and would promise better service in future if complaint done to seniors.

not a legal issue.

gree with Mr Anirudh . litigation would be waste of money . if bank is crediting your account forget the issue

The bank is liable to pay interest.
You have right to demand certified copy of bank's internal compensation policy....and demand compensation.

The visits to bank, representation doesn't come free.

Let the bank state in writing whatever it wants.

You can certainly demand acknowledgement of deficiency, applight, compensation...
Rajendra K Goyal (Expert) 19 November 2014
The interest comes Rs. 7 paise 65 for 16 days on 5000 @ 3.5% for which no litigation / dispute is advisable.
Kumar Doab (Expert) 20 November 2014
The bank should and shall happily pay the interest for delayed Perot without any litigation and shall have to refer to its compensation policy in line with guidelines by RBI and its internal ones by BOD.....
The BM has to supply the printed version without any cost.

Non compliance shall entitle you to approach forums like DCDRF....
