action against police

my wife living apart from six months. today she called me and argued with me. and she alleged me by saying criminal, drug smuggler n illegal firearm keeper etc. so I rushed to local PS n filed FIR but police said that they will register only non cognizable case. They didn't take my written FIR. What was their duty against my wife? ( I mean IPC) And what action can I take against those KHAKIS for denieng my FIR? ( Don't tell me to contact their senior) can I pull them in court?
