Add co-owners to the property in Chennai

Hello,

I have a house in Chennai on my name. This house also belongs to my brother and sister. The house is currently on my name. I would like information on how to add my brother and sister to is as co-owners of the property.

How long does it take to do this process and how much will it cost?

Please help.

Thanks.

You can execute a Release-Deed of equal shares in favour of your brother and sister from the office of Registrar of your area which can be got done within a day and registration fee is different in state to state.

It's simple. You may register a Settlement Deed settling two equal shares in the property in favour of your brother and sister. The T.N. stamp duty and registration fees is Rs.12,500/- plus incidental expenses.
