necessity of registering agreements in law is it compulsory

The agreement which is enforceable by law is a valid conract as per Contract Act.
The agreement to be a valid one need to satisfy all pre-requisites as stipulated under Sec.10 of the said Act.
However, compulsory registration is not mandated by law. It differs from case to case basis.
For instance as per Registration Act, Regsiration of sale deed is mandatory, whereas registrtion of a will is optional.
