Ambiguity in kyc norms across government bodies

RBI, in its rules for KYC clearly allows one to submit an "Affidavit" as proof of address.

But, UIDAI does not list this for Aadhar.

Thus, it would be nice if clarification is provided in this matter with respect to UIDAI for Aadhar. It will be better still if the updated rules are provided please.

Hi,

The Aadhaar number is being used only as an identity proof since there is a possibility that the address printed in the card has changed.

I hope this helps.

Have a good day.

Agreed Sir. But that is after getting Aadhar card.

RBI Rules allow a citizen to open SB account across the country by submitting a "Valid Affidavit" (Self declaration on oath, vetted legally as per law governing Affidavit).

CAN A CITIZEN (HIGHLY QUALIFIED, RESPECTED) GET HIS AADHAR BY SUBMITTING SUCH AFFIDAVIT?

Regards,

Sh. P. Suresh
