charudureja (advocate) 21 October 2009
yes we will be amending our constitution sometimes it is odne even on the whims of politicians too
Anil Agrawal (Retired) 23 October 2009
When politicians say Parliament is supreme (pity their ignorance), anything is possible.
Vineet (Director) 26 October 2009
There is nothing wrong in Constitutional Amendments to address the dynamics of everchanging civic society. There are sufficient checks and balances with Judicial Review to keep the political whims and fancy under control.
But at the end of day it's our own elected representatives who derive power from the same constitution. Why blame them ......... the lowest vote count was in Colaba, Mumbai..one of the most educated and influential constituency of country and victim of 26/11 terrorist attacks.
Anil Agrawal (Retired) 26 October 2009
Shah Bano case is the result of dynamics of everychanging civil society. So is 498A and DVA. I ask the lawyer friends whether any of you has been hauled up to the police station to face 498A. If the answer is no, then you don't know what actually happens. You can imagine but the reality will always be far removed. Yes, you can please in the court. That is not the ground situation.
Were the framers of the Constitution shortsighted? How is that they recommended reservation for 10 years but then the successive governments got a tool to play with and went on extending it? This is another example of a dynamic society.
Dear Sir, an illiterate and poverty stricken nation is the breeding ground of corruption and that is what it is. If you talk of the vote, how are the candidates picked up? Winnability is the criterion based on religion, money, influence, dynasty, criminal background and what not.
I value your thoughts but as Rousseau said we agree to disagree and I shall defend your right to disagree.
