Ancestral land partition

Hi All, We are having an agricultural land in karnataka state which is an ancestral property shared between 3+1 members. My Grandfather had shared the land to 3 of his sons (my uncles). Now we want to partition the land with consent from all. but there is an extra co-owner with us who we dont know added into the record. we do not even know who they are or whether they are living or dead. how to partition this land with family settlement such that all including the extra co-owner get equal shares of land. what is the simplest method for partition with family settlement ?

Thanks in advance.

If there is no consensus arrived among the co-sharers for an amicable partition, it would be advisable to file a partition suit before a civil court of jurisdiction.
