Ancestral property

Dear sirs,

Are the details of agricultural land entered in to the pass book and the receipts of the tax challans enough for showing the ownership?

Is registration  mandatory for such land? Please confirm if I can register the acres of land entered in the pass book directly or do I have to show any proof?

My great grand fathers have some land and my grand father expired after writing a will that my grand mother can assign the land to anyone on her wish. In that case who will be the legal heir. There's no proof that the land was aquired by ancestors

ITs better to have registered the documents

In a move that would shake up the real estate market in the city, district collectors  have banned the sale of agricultural land owned by those who became farmers by will. They have  issued orders to revenue officials to verify whether those selling or buying agricultural land are ancestral farmers. If those selling or buying farm lands have become farmers through will, their deals would be nullified.
