As per your concern I would like to say that laws play an important role in guiding the behaviour and conduct of the people in a society. Moreover, as defined by John Austin - "Law is the command of sovereign backed by sanction".

At the outset, every law student/ lawyer is aware of the major Acts of Parliament such as Code of Civil Procedure, Indian Penal Code, Criminal Procedure Code, etc. which are general in nature, whether substantive or procedural. As a law student/ lawyer, these laws form the foundation of various subject of law i.e. criminal, civil, etc.
Minor Acts, on the other hand, are specific acts dealing with specific subject of law.

There are seven (7) Minor Acts should be known by every law student/ lawyer because of their applicability in today's time. These acts are:-

⭕ The Advocates Act, 1961,

⭕ The Contempt of Courts Act, 1971,

⭕ The Medical Termination of Pregnancy Act, 1971,

⭕ The Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961,

⭕ The Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006,

⭕ The Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005, and

⭕ The Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.

Hope It Helps!
