Assigned land

Dear Experts, I have purchased a land in 2008. It was then verified in the sub-registrar office that it has clear title. I mean the 'assigned land survey numbers' released in 2008 does not contain my land survey number. But, the government released a new set of survey numbers now in 2011 and they now say that the land is assigned land. I am in a horrible situation now. Why is the government playing these cheap tricks with ordinary people? What can I do in this kind of situation? Please help!! Best Regards, Raju.
