Buy-back of private company shares

I was employed in a private company and was issued shares & options. I've now quit the company and asked the company to buy back the shares as it is their fiduciary responsibility but they are not accepting it. Is there any legal recourse that I can take?

You may show the T&C and agreement on this subject to a very able counsel and check if such responsibility can be fastened first as per the agreement.
