Buying property as major student

Sir i am 20 years old and doesn't have any income. My father wants to buy flat on my name. Is it possible to do so.

Dear Mr.Vipul Madaan,

I can understand why you have posed this question.

Your father can purchase the property in your name out of his tax paid money, provided HIS NAME ALSO APPEARS AS A JOINT-OWNER.

Otherwise, the provisions of Benami Transactions (Prohibition) Act, 1988, as amended vide THE BENAMI TRANSACTIONS (PROHIBITION) AMENDMENT ACT, 2016 will get attracted.
